About Betsy

Betsy Buckner-Kadane is a wife, mother and artist, but not always in that order.
She has been a resident of Evergreen for 15 years and a full-time artist for 8.

Betsy has studied abroad in Italy; the University of Colorado Denver; Arts Student League of Denver; Ghost Ranch, Abique, NM; Anderson Ranch, Aspen; Taos School of the Arts, NM; Foothills Art Center, Golden; and more recently at the Andreeva Portrait Academy, Santa Fe, NM.

Betsy paints what strikes her mood that day - from a frenzied, energetic abstract to a calm, lonely buffalo. Each painting strives to capture her emotions of the moment. Simplistic, yet vibrant, hurried but planned, musical, expressive strokes are all characteristics of her style. "When painting, I allow the paint and brush to do whatever moves them.
My favorite quote is: "Let the medium do it!"
